in class writing: planning for culture vignettes
Timeline->Culture Writing 1->Culture Writing 2->Culture Writing 3-> Essay Planning(front and back)
Reflection
The writings in class were memories of our experiences with culture. I liked these writings because at the beginning of class it really gets your brain working and gets you engaged into the class for the day. These two pieces are also part of my Culture Vignettes piece and having them readily available when it came time to write the paper was very useful. These writings, in my case, were used as pieces to make up a big assignment and doing them apart from one another made the paper much easier to construct. The work on the far right is the culture timeline we did in class,a timeline of our culture experiences, which was the inspiration for the short stories of culture. I used these stories in sequential order like they are placed on the timeline(top to bottom), to construct my essay.

Dialogic journals
Reflection
Dialogic journals are a good way to examine an article and ask yourself questions. Also, having someone else agree or disagree with your response can give you a chance to take different views of the article. It is important to see other peoples opinions on things to expand your thoughts and prevent you from being closed minded or biased.

culture vignettes
Rough Draft
Final Draft
Reflection
The culture vignettes assignment appealed to me when I started thinking about my experiences with culture and how those experiences affected my views. The rough draft and the final draft are not very different, mainly because the message I portrayed in the first draft was the one I wanted to reveal. I didn't alter the paper much at all because I didn't want to alter the message from the rough draft. The use of the timeline and short stories above helped break down the essay and put it together in smaller pieces.
Essay analysis presentation
Reflection
I enjoyed the essay analysis presentation because the topic was something that I like and I think is fun to talk about. All of the people in my group were pretty much on the same page as far as our views and opinions of the article. Our discussion of article seemed to overtake any note taking. We all agreed on what the article was saying and I don't think anyone wrote any notes besides what we put on the powerpoint. I was happy with the discussion sparked by the class. In the discussion, our groups viewpoint was challenged and that helped us to look at the article from a different perspective instead of keeping our "blinders" on and being stubborn in our opinion.
